Still no plans for the bank holiday weekend? Don’t want to rely on the unpredictable weather? Not to worry; Mister Sunday is returning to London after an almost-year hiatus.
Fast forward a year on, the Mister Sunday crew of Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin have gone from strength to strength with their notorious Summer Sunday day parties at Nowadays in New York. This summer has already played host to Avalon Emerson, Rick Wilhite, and Peckham’s very own Bradley Zero, with many more big names still to come.
Organised and DJ’d by the duo, Mister Sunday has its roots in Brooklyn, NY starting off in Santos Party House in 2009. From its conception the event’s popularity has attracted global attention and is now heralded as one of the best day parties in the world at the moment. The American-based double act mainly spin all things disco and tribal house whilst adding soulful vocals and samples into their mixes. It’s famous for attracting a fun-loving crowd of all ages, and some interesting dance moves.
Having the pleasure to play venue host this time around is York Hall, a storied Victorian building in Bethnal Green. Considered the home of British boxing, the Grade II listed building has recently found dual purpose as a working gym and an event space for music acts, with a Funktion-One system, skylit main room, and a big mirror ball.
Tickets are now on final release. In the meantime set your ears and eyes to the below Boiler Room set – pure joy!
