The Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA), currently one of the world’s leading electronic music institutions, is coming to Leeds for an intimate evening of free workshops, guest lectures and DJ sessions to celebrate their annual RBMA session, this year being held in Tokyo. The event in Leeds will be held on Thursday at the Belgrave Music Hall, and for those lucky enough to attend will get lectures from Dubstep-Grime-House connoisseur T Williams and techno legend and pioneer Derrick May (of the famous ‘Belleville Three‘), a production workshop from Alt-J‘s Thom, and afterwards performances from them all. For guest list to lecture and workshop sessions RSVP to RBMASessionsInvite@uk.redbull.com.
Over the past fifteen years the academy has toured the world hosting landmark lectures given by such immortal contributors as Masters At Work, Richie Hawtin, Bob Moog (of the famous Moog synthesizer), Brian Eno and even Steve Reich; as well as mentored and supported up and coming artists like Benjamin Damage, Aniara label boss Fabian Bruhn, Flying Lotus, Jamie Woon, Koreless, Krystal Klear (RinseFM/Madtech), and rising star Mano Le Tough.
RBMA are currently taking applications for their two week long event in Tokyo (commencing Oct. 14th, all expenses paid). For all aspiring producers over the age of 19, applications close March 18th: apply here.
