Saturday nights at Jazz Cafe in Camden have started to gain a reputation for being one the best places to find a mash up of soul, disco and house from some of the genre’s most respected DJs. Saturday 20th Jan is no different with Maurice Fulton making his debut at the venue.
Constantly blurring the boundaries between soul, disco and deep house this man has a talent for moving people of all ages. As a widely respected producer, DJ and originator of house music the Baltimore born musician has become a consistent driving influence in dance music since the 90s. With hits such as ‘Gypsy Woman’ and ‘Joy In My Life’ in his early days, Fulton has gone on to produce and release numerous records securing his name as one of the biggest influencers in the game.
Providing the setting is Jazz Cafe. This place is quickly gaining a reputation on the same level as Ronnie Scott’s for its showcasing of new talent and being able to attract some of the very best established acts around. Despite its name, its fairly flexible music policy allows headliners from various backgrounds to debut and perform at the venue.
The venue itself is very varied, with an intimate lounging mezzanine area for a more chilled evening, whilst the downstairs dance floor always cooks up a storm. And with a incredible sound system and the option for live instrumentals this place covers all bases guaranteeing a great night.
Tickets are going for between £5-15 depending on you book and are limited to 150 capacity.
