With the event starting at 7am, it’ll also be a second round of festivities for those seeing in the new year elsewhere, but with music running through til 7pm, it’ll also serve any fresher faces saving it for their main event.
Trust came about as Saoirse wanted to throw her own party after being 15 years in the game and of course, its first edition did not disappoint. This Ireland-born DJ knows how to traverse between a diverse range of genres from dub to jazz to house and techno, with her true passion for and knowledge of electronic music demonstrated by studying Radio Production and Sound Engineering at university, working in senior roles at Resident Advisor, plus having residencies on Rinse FM and more recently BBC Radio 1. Having risen in popularity over recent years, Saoirse is an expert at introducing new sounds to those keen to hear them.
Saoirse is bringing friend Shanti Celeste to FOLD to play alongside her. Following her b2b with Objekt on NYE in Glasgow, she’ll bring her attention-grabbing style which runs across techno, electro and house, and should also include warm tones as heard in her debut album Tangerine. The pair are known for their energising presence behind the decks, which should keep things buoyant for the crowd as the sun peeps through the shutters.
Last but by no means least, Art of Dark resident Andrew James Gustav will be bringing his breakbeat, tech and electro sounds to the floor, a solid addition to this triple threat.
We can all trust Saoirse that this will be a memorable East London introduction to the new decade. Tickets still available here.
